Chromium and potassium double sulphate, better known as chromium alum, is a mixed salt of chromium and potassium of sulphuric acid.
Chromium alum is produced from chromium (III) salts or ferrochromium alloys.
Chromium is a very hard material that, at room temperature, looks like a solid of intense violet color, odorless.

Uses
- Chromium alum is used in the tanning of leather, especially for fine items such as nappa, suede and nabuck, gives the leather good softness and fullness, firm grain, as well as brilliance and uniformity in dyes.
- Chromium alum is used for the production of plates for diagnostic and professional use.
